Hiron Point, a protected sanctuary in the southern part of the Sundarbans. Another name for it is Nilkamal. It is located on the west bank of the Pramatta Kunga River in the Khulna Range. Hiron Point is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. As Hiron Point is a sanctuary, it is a safe haven for many tigers, deer, monkeys, birds and reptiles. This Hiron point is one of the places to see the Royal Bengal Tiger in the Sundarbans.

Chitra deer, wild boar can be seen here; Among the birds there are white-breasted kingfishers, yellow-breasted kingfishers, black-headed kingfishers, Great egret, muddy sting etc. There are also plenty of crab habitats. And there are colorful butterflies. There is a watch tower at Keorasuthi, 3 km away from Hiran Point.

How to get there

By river: You can reach Hiron Point in the Sundarbans by launch from Khulna Launch Ghat. There are launches at night and in the morning.
